The sacred site of Aoi, where the gods are enshrined. Offerings dedicated to the gods have been preserved here, along with the prayers.
Aoi Aso Shrine was founded in 806 AD. For 1,200 years, it has woven its history and preserved numerous cultural treasures through the ages.
The permanent exhibition showcases radiant sacred treasures handed down since ancient times, along with swords embodying the spirit of the samurai.
Many of the treasures, which were severely damaged by the record-breaking rainfall disaster, have been carefully restored and can be seen again. We are deeply grateful for the generous support of so many people.
